Supervisory Fish Biologist

As a Supervisory Fish Biologist and In-Season Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:
1. You will serve as the Designated Federal Manager for Subsistence Fisheries on the Yukon River. You will work closely with managers from the State of Alaska, Canada, Tribal Governments, and user groups throughout the drainage to manage these fisheries resources. 2. You will supervise professional fisheries biologists and technicians in the collection and analysis of fisheries data to support management. 3. You will represent the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at public, inter-agency, and international meetings to discuss fisheries management and work to involve and build collaboration. Only experience and education obtained by 08/03/2020 will be considered. Basic Requirements for this position:
You must meet A or B below to qualify for the position. A. A full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in biological sciences that included at least 6 semester hours (9 quarter hours or the equivalent) in aquatic subjects such as limnology, ichthyology, fishery biology, aquatic botany, aquatic fauna, oceanography, fish culture, or related courses in the field of fish biology; AND at least 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours or the equivalent) in the animal sciences in such subjects as general zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology, entomology, parasitology, ecology, cellular biology, genetics, or research in these fields. OR B. A combination of education in an accredited college or university, and experience equivalent to a major in biological science (i.e., at least 30 semester hours/45 quarter hours or the equivalent) of which a minimum of 6 semester hours were in aquatic subjects such as limnology, ichthyology, fishery biology, aquatic botany, aquatic fauna, oceanography, fish culture, or related courses in the field of fish biology; AND at least 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours or the equivalent) in the animal sciences in such subjects as general zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology, entomology, parasitology, ecology, cellular biology, genetics, or research in these fields, PLUS appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to the basic requirement, you may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to manage a subsistence, commercial, or sport fishery; and develop and oversee fisheries data collection, analysis, and reporting. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
