This position assists in the care of a group of children at a singular site. This position assists with the planning and implementation of a development/educational program for a program or child care center according to established parameters.
Essential Functions
Assists senior staff with planning and implementation of the development/educational curriculum, lesson plans and programs in the individual classroom/playroom to ensure a well run, purposeful program that meets departmental goals and is responsive to participant needs.
Assists with the promotion and maintenance of a healthy learning environment that minimizes potential and actual injury. Cleans and maintains toys and materials. Demonstrates health and safety practices.
Assists with planning and leading creative activities that promote physical, intellectual, social and emotional competence of the enrolled children. Participates in the social development of young children.
Participates in other various activities which may consist of recordkeeping, maintaining inventories and ordering or reporting needed resources. Assists children and parents as necessary.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age. The position also requires skills and abilities typically gained through 1 year of experience in working with children. Must comply with applicable registration regulations and health requirements for assignment. Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats. Must demonstrate responsibility, flexibility and sensitivity to children.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with young children from birth to age 5 in classroom setting. An Associate''s Degree in a related area is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
