19 an hour Behavioral Health Aide We are looking for a Behavioral Health Aide to join our team.
Will be working with children, adolescents and their families in the home, school and community.
Must have a personal vehicle and vehicle insurance(Current Alaska driver's license, driving record and vehicle insurance), which will be utilized for work, Will be using Electronic Medical Records system, all newly hired employees will be subject to review of their usage of this system after 60 days of employment.
Evaluations will be done by the supervisor at the end of a three-month orientation period after hire and annually once after.
Skill & Responsibilities -Maintain daily reporting and charting on clients including Medicaid documentation as well as other treatment related paperwork as required by agency Policies and Procedures, and applicable State of Alaska and/or federal laws.
-Attend staff meetings, Treatment Team meetings, training, conferences, and court hearings when appropriate.
-Coordinate with professionals such as school district personnel, Social Workers, Juvenile Justice, etc.
as required.
-Provide crisis intervention as needed -As direct, acts as the agency's community liaison to the professional and general community.
-Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnights.
-Responsible for keys issued.
-Motivates and encourages children to complete required treatment milieu activities as identified by each child's Individual Service Plan, (ISP).
-Provides outreach services as a primary worker with clients, parents, and families.
-Provides Individual Skill Development for 50% of each shift worked with clients.
-Develops positive empathic relationship with client and acts as a personal positive role model.
-Assists in planning and implementation of recreational, educational, and vocational activities.
-Accompanies clients during travel to and from school, activities, court hearings, and appointments as needed.
-Current first aid and CPR certificates and the physical ability to employ verbal and physical aggression control techniques after being certified.
-Interpersonal skills adequate to work effectively as a member of a treatment team.
-Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-Physical ability to employ verbal and physical aggression control techniques after being certified.
Ability to Physically restrain adolescent clients.
(This my require you to bend your knees, extend arms and shoulders and other physical movements necessary to safely retrain a client) -Meets all licensing requirements as delineated by the Alaska Administrative Code 7 AAC 50.

-Two years of experience working with children who experience a mental health disability.
(When substituting educational experience 30 college credits will be considered equal to one year of substitute experience).
-High School diploma or GED required.
Associate degree in psychology, social work, justice, guidance and counseling, sociology, education or other human service field preferred.
Equivalent work and /or educational experience may be substituted on a year-by-year basis.
