Member Service Representative I (Frontline)

Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) is looking for an energetic individual as our Member Services Representative I (Frontline) as part of the Member Services Team located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
This full-time position earns a competitive starting wage of $24.
90 hourly.

A day in the life of a Member Services Representative I (Frontline) can look like:
Find satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service support to the membership as the as the primary and ongoing point of contact for account creation, payments, usage understanding and general cooperative knowledge.
Assist members during high stress scenarios including unexpected outages or disconnects for non-payment and utilize and communicate known resources to restore electric service.
Share your positive attitude by communicating and team building with others on the Member Services team.
Eligibility High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid Driver's License Two years' experience working in a direct customer service related capacity in a service industry.
Experience with word-processing.
At least one year of cash handling experience.
GVEA conducts pre-employment, post-offer drug/alcohol screening and background checks.
Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates as deemed necessary.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
