Summary:
Are you interested in gaining hands on experience in a wide range of areas related to IT? The UAF College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) is looking for a student employee to work with our team on the Fairbanks campus.
The CFOS IT group is a small departmental IT team providing services for faculty, researchers, staff and students at 4 major geographic locations in Alaska.
This position offers flexible part time hours Monday-Friday from 8:
00am to 5:
00pm making it easy to accommodate course schedules.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems, software installation and PC hardware support.
Strong verbal and written communications skills, customer service skills and excellent time management skills.
Applicants must be able to maintain professional working relationships with customers and peers.
Applicants must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Experience & Education:
Demonstrated coursework in an IT, computer or technology related field is a plus.
Preference will be given to applicants who volunteer or have previous work experience in IT support.
Required Experience & Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent and some college or comparable experience preferred.
To be eligible for student employment the applicant must be an enrolled UA student in a minimum of 6 credits with a GPA of 2.
0 or higher, or a newly enrolled student.
Salary Information:
This is a Student Assistant 2 position with a starting hourly rate of $14.
