Summary:
The University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College (UAF CTC) is seeking a skilled culinarian to join our Culinary Arts and Hospitality program.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced instructors to facilitate the transition into instruction and classroom responsibility.
No prior teaching experience is required.
Flexible schedules are available.
This position is represented by the United Academic - Adjuncts union and earns educational benefits each semester of teaching.

Duties include developing a course outline, syllabus, teaching materials, and tests or other assessment methods consistent with UAF policies and procedures.
Instructing, advising, and assessing/grading students in the identified subject matter in alignment with UAF policies and procedures and direction from UAF CTC dean under the lead of the faculty program coordinator.
The incumbent will be responsible for teaching one or more undergraduate courses in a manner consistent with UAF Faculty Senate guidelines and the specific course catalog description.
Adjunct faculty are expected to participate annually in scheduled mandatory initial organization or orientation meetings and are required to complete UAF mandatory trainings within the specified period of time.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students.
Although preferred, no prior teaching experience is required.
Expertise relevant to the effective teaching of the specific subject areas encompassed within course being taught.
The ability to work with a diverse student population, be adaptable to varying needs of students, and follow schedules and procedures while exhibiting a professional attitude.

Salary Information:
This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position.
Minimum salaries are set by the United Academic - Adjunct, AAUP-AT/AFL-CIO collective bargaining agreement.
Salaries may vary based upon education and experience.
