is looking for Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to work in a school setting in Anchorage, AK.
Adapted Physical Education collaborates with regular physical education teachers to ensure that children with disabilities can access and participate in the PE curriculum.
Adaptive materials and equipment and a modified curriculum may be used depending on the needs of the student.
Pay Rate:
$46/hr
$3k Bonus ($1k after first month of work, $1k after winter break, $1k after contract ends)

Creates an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, interest centers, and exhibits of student's work.
Supervises student environment, students, and volunteers.
Works as a partner with parents, families, and the community.

Participates in and contributes to the teaching profession.
Qualifications:
A valid Alaska initial, professional, or master teaching certificate with an endorsement in Special Education Adaptive Physical Education.
Experience working with special education students.
Experience working collaboratively to support the Individual Education Plan (IEP) needs of special education students in a public school setting.
Physical /Mental Demands The physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking and hearing.
Specific visual abilities are also required.
The employee is regularly required to reach with his/her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing less than 40 lbs.
Additionally, the employee must be able to understand vague and implicit instructions, be able to readily recall facts and details, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.
The employee must have the ability to effectively manage the stress of working with students, parents, and other employees representing diverse cultures, personalities, and work styles in a dynamic work environment.
