This includes the planning and implementation of a strategic plan for the giving program, analyzing data, and fostering relationships between benefactors and the Diocese of Fairbanks.
The Fundraising Development Officer performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks.
This is a full-time exempt position with excellent benefits including:
health, dental, and vision insurance; 403(b) retirement plan with company match; three weeks starting PTO; and eleven paid holidays.

Essential Functions Leads in the development and implementation of long/short-term strategic plans to provide vision and direction for all aspects of diocesan giving programs, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all benefactors to support the Diocese of Fairbanks' overall mission.
Maintains and manages a mass solicitation program via direct mail and multi-media in coordination with the External Publications Editor.
Collaborates with Donor Support to ensure donors are properly recognized in a timely manner.
Oversees the content of all diocesan publications and ensures that the message of the mission is consistent in all communications.
Monitors progress of fundraising initiatives and evaluates efficacy to generate target donor lists; Determines annual attrition rate and required replacement records.
Fosters the growth of best practices in the supporting areas of donation processing, data management, and donor relations as related to annual giving and CBNA as a whole.
Stays abreast of annual giving trends and strategies for religious non-profits including social media and other fundraising tactics; Makes recommendations on strategy changes; Attends annual fundraising conference.
Provides annual budget input for appeals, vendors, and program costs.
Responds to donor communications, providing up-to-date information about the diocese and our mission.
Informs and updates staff and leadership on ongoing appeals and fundraising efforts.
Develops annual calendar of fundraising publications and events.
Collaborates with External Publications Editor to maintain mission and branding focus and appropriate inventory.
Supervisory Responsibilities Oversees and manages External Publications Editor.
Qualifications Knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Statistical Analysis, Stewardship, Marketing, Philanthropic Studies, Public Relations, Business Management, or related discipline.
Skill level typically achieved through three to five years' experience in related field.
CFRE certification preferred.
Practicing Roman Catholic preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes Knowledge of the basic tenets of the Catholic faith and related religious terminology.
Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and donor software.
Excellent customer service skills, with ability to maintain focus and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time.
Ability to multi-task and retain accuracy in an environment of competing deadlines.
Professional demeanor and initiative.
Ability to have and maintain a valid state driver's license.
